Business Briefs: VISTA Award for Ron Yaple; capital matchmaking event

The capital matchmaking event will follow a “speed coaching” format where entrepreneurs and business owners can meet up to six lenders and/or business services providers for 12 minutes each.

Ron Yaple receives VISTA Award

Sheffield — Race Mountain Tree Services owner Ron Yaple was recently named the 2016 VISTA Award winner by the Massachusetts Arborists Association (MAA). Yaple was honored for his lifetime achievement in the field of arboriculture.

The VISTA Award, established in 2000, is the MAA’s highest individual honor, recognizing outstanding tree care professionals whose actions serve as a guide and a challenge for all members of the industry. The award’s title is an acronym for Vision, Integrity, Service, Talent, and Action.

Capital matchmaking/business coaching event

Great Barrington — The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network (MSBDC), Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce will host a capital matchmaking/business coaching event on Tuesday, May 3, from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Crissey Farm.

The event will follow a “speed coaching” format where entrepreneurs and business owners can meet up to six lenders and/or business services providers for 12 minutes each. Traditional and non-traditional SBA lenders and other funding sources, as well as business advising providers, will be present.
